Kempston East Methodist Church is a friendly, growing church situated in the heart of Kempston. It was founded in 1904 and has been providing worship and fellowship ever since to help bring the people of Kempston closer to God.
It is one of the larger churches in Kempston and is a big part of the local community. Not only does the church deliver workshop every Sunday morning for regular church-goers, but it is also the home of several groups and organisations such as the Wesley Guild and the 1st Kempston Boys Brigade Company.
We pride ourselves on being a church where everyone is welcome and that is important in the community of Kempston. We provide and host many services for ourselves and other organisations. We currently host the annual Kempston Town Council Remembrance Service as well as hosting services for lots of the local schools and groups at various times of the year such as at Easter and Christmas.
We understand, the church is a place where people go for various reasons and we seek to provide for all these needs. Whether you are seeking reflection, fellowship or a place of tranquillity, Kempston East will welcome you with open arms and support you in your time of need.

Our Stewards
The Steward team are responsible for the running of our church services, and the use of the church and other facilities for various purposes such as school visits and concerts. This is our dedicated team who are always there to help as and when required.
Sunday Club
We offer groups for all ages from 0-5's all the way up to early teens. Teaching the next generation about the love of Christ is both a privilege and an honour, after all they are not only part of the present church but they are also the future church. The children's work here at Kempston East is valued extremely highly, with those involved at all levels commissioned at the front of the church at the beginning of each new school year. |
Our Services
Every Sunday, we have a range of ministers, lay preachers and speakers that lead us in our worship and provide the message. We have varied worship throughout the year at Kempston East with traditional services, evening (AWAKE) services, Café Church, Jazz Praise services and we even have an annual outdoor service. There is something for everyone at Kempston East. |
Kempston East in the Community
Kempston East works hard to reach out to all levels of the community and prides itself on working with local groups and schools. We have two 'Open the Book' teams that regularly visit local primary schools to tell them fascinating Bible stories. We are also proud to work closely with the local Boys and Girls Brigades. |
