Kempston Drop-In
A weekly sociable group for all people with dementia (or significant cognitive impairment) to enjoy a relaxing afternoon with/without their family carers or supporters - participating in a range of fun, cognitively stimulating activities in a supported, understanding, friendly environment.
The group has a lively atmosphere and every week is different. There’s an emphasis on offering a wide range of activities – tailored to the needs & interests of each individual – including table‑top games, art & crafts, quizzes, cooking, darts & table-tennis. There's plenty of time too for chatting over light refreshments. The session often finishes with an uplifting sing-a-long around the piano!
This service is facilitated by a highly-experienced member of our team trained in Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) together with some of our other amazing volunteers. It provides a chance to make new friends, try something different, develop new skills and practice old ones. There’s no referral necessary – just pop along and meet us – you can be sure of a warm and friendly welcome.
If we all work together we can build a better world for people living with dementia
